Wooplr helps you to find amazing products near your area.
It is similar to Yelp in many ways and it was founded by Ex-McAfee employees.

The Concept

The Wooplr interface is similar to Pinterest and is divided into categories.
You can like a product (Love it in Wooplr terms) which is similar to Facebook. You get notifications like Google Plus, Trends like Twitter.

In short, Wooplr has managed to get the best features of social websites and combine them together in an interface which is intuitive.

The Mobile Interface



As with all social websites, Wooplr has both Android and iPhone applications.

The Android app is very easy to use and is similar to Path's mobile application.
The service too has a mobile web interface which is a little sluggish since it use

How to download VEVO videos on YouTube not available in your country

It is really frustrating to get a message on YouTube that states Vevo has decided to block videos for your country or Vevo is not available in your country. However with the help of a trick in Firefox you can access and download those videos.



What you will need to carry out the trick

1.  Firefox Web Browser
2. User Switcher addon for Firefox

Step 1: Configure User Switcher

In Mozilla Firefox, select Tools. Click  Default User Agent and click iPhone 3.0. Now Firefox will act as an iPhone.

Step 2: Visit the Vevo video channel  on  YouTube

Consider a VEVO channel for Beyonce: beyonceVEVO.

Hover your mouse pointer on a video you want to download and press right click Copy Link Location. Now open Notepad or  any other text editor and paste the contents (Press control + v on windows).

You will get something like this

 To do this you have to make three changes to the above URL in notepad
1. Delete m. before youtube.com at start
2. Delete client=mv-google#/ in middle

3. Delete client=mv-google at the end


So the final URL will be like

            
Step 3:  Download YouTube video

Go to Keepvid.

Copy the modified URL from notepad and paste it in Keepvid site and press the Download button.
Now download the videos by  clicking on any of the the four links shown in green.

Google Drive: Google's attempt to fight Dropbox and Skydrive

Google has finally launched Google Drive, a service similar to Dropbox and Sugarsync.



But is this new service really worth a try?





Space:

Google Drive gives you 5 GB of free storage. It is way too less compared to Microsoft's Skydrive which gives 7 GB of space ( MS has set these limit for 25 GB for so called loyal users).

Dropbox offers only 2 GB of space but if you invite your friends you can add more space to your account.

Support for devices:  

Google Drive has built in support for android devices. What it means is Google Drive has an app in the Google Play store but not for iPhone or  Blackberry devices. This seems a rather unfair to users who don't use Android phones.

Also it is important to note that once you install the android version of Google Drive, you have to wait until Google allows you so called access to Google Drive!

Microsoft has still not launched an official Skydrive application for android devices.

Editing Office Documents:

If you want to work with your office documents in Google Drive, then you will need to convert them into Google Docs. Microsoft has MS Web Apps which saves and edits documents in native office file formats like .docx, xlsx etc.

Create your own quiz application on Facebook in 30 minutes flat

It seems people are really solving quizzes and playing games on Facebook. Did you know that you can easily create your very own quiz in flat 30 minutes. This tutorial is the right start for getting your quiz up and running on Facebook.


Step 1 : Register your application with Facebook.

For this you will have to go to Facebook developer Page. Here you will need to register your application before your friends can actually use it.
Click on the "Setup new application" button.


You will now see page where you will need to enter the application name and agree to the terms and conditions. Enter suitable name and accept the terms and press "Create Application" button.

The next page is extremely important. It shows the detailed description of your application along with two important things: API and Secret Keys. You will now need to choose a logo and a thumbnail for your quiz application. Upload a suitable logo and thumbnail. Keep this page open.

Step 2 : Use ApplicationBuilder application in Facebook

You will now need to go here ApplicationBuilder.
The ApplicationBuilder application in Facebook allows a user to create an application. Just allow it permissions to access to your profile. Click on the "Start Creating a new Facebook Application" link within ApplicationBuilder.

As we are creating a quiz, we will use the application type as quiz.
In the first "Quiz info" tab you will have to add the basic information about your application.
Press "Save".

In the second "Outcomes" tab add you will have to enter all possible outcomes. As you can see you can choose the outcomes beforehand.

Remember people always like to hear something GOOD  about themselves. Outcomes should be always nice, so that it will encourage your users to post the outcome of the quiz. Press "Save".

In the third "Questions" tab, add trick questions. These questions should be difficult to answer, if you want your quiz to be used seriously. Press "Save".

In the fourth final "publish" tab, add the API and the Secret Key in the suitable fields from the previous Facebook developer page which was kept open. Press "Save".



Now you will have to send three invites to your friends daily to play your quiz. Your application wont be listed in Facebook application directory initially.

You need to have at least 5 total users or 10 monthly active users before you can submit your application to the Facebook application directory.

Trello - A todo app for individuals and teams

Trello is a cool application for getting things done for free.
It is mainly created using business in mind, however it can also be used by individuals

In Trello you organize things into Boards. It is similar to Evernote's concept of  notebooks. Boards consists of cards

Note about File size limits : You can add a file of 10 MB size in Trello. However, Trello Gold allows file sizes up to 250 MB
