What is 2-step verification?
Google has an additional security feature called 2-step verification which requires a user to enter a code when logging to a Google account.
This code is sent to a user on his / her cell phone.
Steps to activate 2-step verification for your Google account:
1. Go to your Google account settings by clicking this link: https://www.google.com/settings/
2. Click on the Edit link next to 2-step verification
3. Add your phone number
Now every time you log-in to your Google account using your password you will be asked for a code as below:
